To YBQ, fashion, painting, sculpture, photography are just different ways to communicate and give back. “We have become too smart; we think with our heads. Art is about connecting people to their emotions” he says.
Have you ever had this feeling, when meeting someone, that you are talking to an inspiring soul? That’s what happens when an artist gives you access to his universe, opening the door to his own vision of the world.
We met YBQ as he welcomed us for a fusion photo shoot. While on our fashion travel between the East and the West, we got a chance to discover his story and vision.
Dedicating his life to fashion design and arts was the least YBQ would have expected while receiving a strict education at a Pakistani military school. Destiny just ran into him. He started designing flowers out of tissue paper, went to New York where he became a ballet dancer. Fashion came when he started designing costumes for horse dressage shows at the family’s farm. Later he moved to California and started to sell his designs to the celebrities he happened to hang out with. Creativity just showed up in the most various forms. He had to embrace it.
To YBQ, fashion, painting, sculpture, photography are just different ways to communicate and give back. “We have become too smart; we think with our heads. Art is about connecting people to their emotions” he says. Today he creates whatever he wants in his studio, an old tobacco warehouse in constant evolution depending on processing projects such as exhibitions, spontaneous music concerts and fashion shows. The place is breathing inspiration.
